Garbage pick up changes for the month of December will be Tuesday, December 24, 2024 and Tuesday, December 31, 2024

FYI…Kaynen Bond from igsenergy has obtained a peddlers license from the Village Office.

John French from Elite Seamless Gutters has also obtained a peddlers license from the Village Office.

The Village is in no way affiliated with Companies who obtain peddlers permits. Fees, paperwork and background checks are done for anyone who wants to go door to door.

 

Electric Vehicle Rebate Program

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) will begin accepting applications on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, for the Electric Vehicle Rebate Program. Illinois residents who purchase a new or used all-electric vehicle from an Illinois licensed dealer are eligible to apply for a $4,000 rebate on an all-electric passenger vehicle or $1,500 rebate on an all-electric motorcycle.

Applicants must apply during the rebate cycle window and within 90 days of vehicle purchase. The deadline to apply is on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. More information about the program, including the application, eligibility requirements and frequently asked questions, will be posted on IEPA’s website (available via this link).

  • Concerned about property fraud? Go to starkco.illinois.gov under the County Clerk & Recorder scroll down to Property Fraud Alert website and follow instructions. This is a free service the County is offering. 
  • According to Ordinance 17/18-04 regarding rules and regulations for Peddlers, anyone soliciting is required to come into the office to fill out an application and pay a fee. If someone comes to your home soliciting, please ask to see their permit, if they do not have one, please refer them to come to the Village Office during the hours of 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday thru Thurs and Friday from 10:00 am – 2:00 p.m. to obtain one.
  • According to regulations regarding the open burn ordinance; it is unlawful to burn trash, garbage, plastic products, construction material, such as treated lumber and roofing material, or other hazardous waste.
  • Burning is allowed between a half hour before sunrise to a half hour after sunset, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

  • In order to legally ride your golf cart, atv or side by sides in town you will need to purchase an annual sticker for $35.00. Please stop by the Village Office to get your copy of the Ordinance and sticker. 
  • In Illinois, it is against the law to leave grass clipping on the road no matter what. It’s called littering and, yes, grass clipping counts as litter according to Illinois General Assembly.
  • If you own a private pool with a depth of 3 feet or more in the Village of Bradford please abide by the Pool Ordinance by having a fence of not less than 4 feet around it and pay an annual fee of $100.00 at the Village Office for the cost of annual pool maintenance and filling.
  • Elsie Drawyer Hodges Park is open to the public between the hours of 5 am and dusk every day.
