COVID-19 forces the cancellation of Bradford Labor Day Celebrations

It is with great sadness that the Bradford Village Board announced the cancellation of all village sponsored events that were scheduled for the 2020 Labor Day Weekend.  The Bradford Lion’s Club has also decided to cancel the annual Labor Day parade.

At this time, The Main Street Tap plans to go forward with a band on Sunday night.

“We love hosting this community celebration.  However due to the Corona Virus, to help protect the citizens of our community and those that join in the celebration we believe that the prudent decision is to cancel this years Labor Day weekend events,” one board member said.

Like many communities, this will be the first time since it began that the Bradford Labor Day Weekend Celebration will be cancelled.

Over the years The Bradford Labor Day Weekend Celebration has become a wonderful community event, and a homecoming of sorts with hundreds of visitors descending upon Bradford to join in the festivities over the three-day weekend.

From the Little Miss Bradford to the Frog Jumping Contest, the Kiddie Tractor Pulls, the various vendors, the Car Show, The Parade, and last year, the Fireworks.  We will miss them all, but most of all we will miss the smiling faces of those friends from far and near who join in celebrating the community of Bradford.

We will be back, better than ever.  Until then, stay safe out there.
